Presented by The Moroccan Association of Ibn Batuta, The 2nd Edition of International Festival of Ibn Battuta under the theme: Travelers, The Ambassadors of Peace. The Festival will take place on 9th – 12th November 2017 and will feature colorful and eclectic selections of ideas and cultures, heritage and character.
About the Festival:
The International Festival of Ibn Battuta, themed: Travelers, The Ambassadors of Peace is a celebration among different nationalities from around the globe to promote peace and to foster global unity among the nations of the world with universal human values inspired and honored by the renowned traveler of pre-modern time, Ibn Battuta.
The festival provides unique arts and cultural platforms thru travel forums, travel literature and conference, cultural performances and messages of inspiration, street art exhibition and show, music shows, theatrical plays, film screening and many exciting activities highlighting the legendary journey of Ibn Battuta and other great travelers in our history.
The significance of the Festival:
The International Festival of Ibn Battuta is being organized to promote peace through travel. This is a great opportunity for the new generation of backpackers, travelers and travel industries to connect, discover, learn and engage people from different parts of the world.

In collaboration with the Moroccan Association of Ibn Battuta and their unconditional commitment, The 2nd Edition of International Festival of Ibn Battuta is being planned and in the process of strategizing on bringing all the creativity with the aim of promoting peace, the wider adaptation of universal values and intercultural understanding. Inspired to continue with more enthusiasm and greater speed to realize the dream where life becomes a celebration and the world will become one family.
The legacy of Ibn Battuta:
The Moroccan traveler Ibn Battuta is known as the greatest traveler of pre modern times. Leaving his motherland at the age of 21 to make the pilgrimage, he accomplished a series of legendary journeys that traversed nearly three decades and took him as far away as India and China. The description of his travels is a unique account of Islamic and medieval history that was placed by the historians within the rich, trans-hemispheric cultural background of the history of the medieval world. His adventure, his wisdom, respect to others and humility are remarkable characters that we have to live with to start peace in one's self.
