My HTC Desire was stolen and with an upgrade due in a year I decided to buy something cheaper in the meantime. I came across the Palm Pre 2 while browsing ebay: I've had a Palm PDA for years and really liked the basic calendar and contact set-up and the ease of syncing with my pc so I bought the Pre. So far I really like the Palm phone - the good bits are the system of 'cards' when you open a function/app and the ease of switching from one activity to another. The phone is good - clear and reliable and I find the size (being smaller than my HTC) much handier. The screen is clear and colourful. What the phone does it does well. The poorer aspects: well, it doesn't sync like the handhelds do and I had to spend some money on a commercial download to achieve this. Having said that I now have calendar & contacts which work better for me than my HTC did - I suppose it's a matter of taste (and possibly technical ability of which I have none). There are very few apps - e.g. I haven't found a link to BBC News headlines, or a decent bar-code scanner. Compared to Android and iphone it's pretty much an app desert. The battery life is a bit worrying: initially, I had to charge it twice a day, but it's improving, or maybe I'm playing with it less. Whatever, it's not great and an in-car charger is necessary. And a silly one - taking it out of my pocket I never know which way is up! Having said that, I've had it about a month I'm enjoying it and I wonder what I'll do at the end of the year when I'm offered an upgrade through my contract...Read full review
One of the best mobile phones ever. Period. The last mobile phone which impressed me was iPhone 2G. After it I saw many phones: android-based, symbian and so on, but Palm Pre 2 with its webOS just conquered me. While most users prefer Android and iOS, because of huge ammount of software for these platform, we, users of webOS, feel ourselves as a part of a big community like the owners of something special and unique. I had a tablet PC, which runs Android, but it is "for business": reading, surfing, sometimes playing. But Palm is "for soul". A great phone for geeks: it allows configure the system at your own via console line etc. Just like iPhone 2G when it appeared. Positives: 1) excellent touchscreen; 2) great materials and quality of assembly; 3) excellent carrier signal; 4) great UI; 5) extremely strong community. Negatives: 1) resolution can be higher; 2) battery time can be also higher; 3) unopredictable future of webOS; 4) it would be nice to have an auto-focus and more settings for camera. I also have Palm Pre Plus, and I can say that it doesn't differ so much except case materials, so, Palm Pre 2 is not a revolution, it is just an evolution of Palm Pre series.Read full review

My wife used iOS before and I changed to Pre 2 from Desire Z. In my opinion webOS is absolutely better than iOS, Android or other OSs in mobile computing. Just the battery life is really poor, even not enough for a day especially using 3G or Wifi.
this is a good product. think different. i like webos and palm) , oki doki) but i have problem with microphone. It's doesn't work(((
